He generally had a cigarette in his hands; for years he preferred unfiltered Lucky Strikes. Later, he smoked strong French cigarettes called Gitanes. His daughter Diane has made it one of her life's goals to stop young people from smoking.
Walt passed away in the hospital on December 15, 1966. The flag at Disneyland flew at half mast, and as commentator Eric Severeid said, "We'll never see his like again."

Walter Elias Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966), was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, and animator. He was the son of parents Flora and Elias Disney, and had three brothers and one sister. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O.
