Depends on your body chemistry. It's always different. Otherwise, Romance, Clinique Happy, and Estee LAuder are all nice, non-overbearing scents.

I think a good perfume has to go well with your looks, character, age and where you are using it.
Like a teenager, fun-loving, outgoing person maybe well-suited to perfume that a refreshing and sporty.
If you are a gentle, soft-spoken person, perfume of the floral smell would be good.
For a professional working adult, recommend a perfume that is strong (in a good sense) to show that you are driven in the job.
I find that smells have a strong effect on people and what impressions others have about you.

I like the powder or floral smell. I am not much on fruit smells.
So my favorite are
Beautiful by Victoria Secert
Blue by Ralph Lauren
However I agree with the person who wrote that it deppends on the occicasion, age and personality of the person wearing it.
Moonlight Path is a nice smell by Bath and Body Works if you want someting to carry in your car or purse to freshen up somethimes. I usally spray it in my truck as an air freshner.

It is different for everyone. Fragrances react with your body chemistry to produce a unique scent. Personally, I love Yria, by Yves Rocher. I tried a lot of different perfumes before I found it. My advice-get testers and try them before buying.

a good perfume is one that goes well with your natural body odour. some perfumes smell very good from the bottle but when you are using it, it doesn't smell as nice. you have got to try it first before you buy one.

My faves are Yria elixir, something I only get when on sale at Yves Roche.com (it's expensive otherwise), and just gotten Sweet Honesty from Avon, reg. $11.
I am going to try Bath & Body Works Pina Colada next (even though I'm not a drinker too much)

Chanel, Chance I think its called, smells sooooo good, super expensive though but lasts for a really long time, there is an imposter brand that smells identical and is really cheap.

For something cheaper, I like Vanilla Fields. I adore a vanilla scent.
I also like Anna Sui (designer).
