I have answered this before, After facing and surviving cancer 3 years now I have spent many nights with this on my mind.
I would write a Letter to each of my children telling them how much I love them, encouraging them to continue to pursue their dreams. I would recall some of the funny and fun things I treasure about each of them. I would remind them of who to turn to for comfort and support. I would write a similar letter to my husband thanking him for his love and devotion and wishing him happiness in the future. I would visit my father. I would make a dinner for all the friends that can make it and enjoy one more evening in their company. I would leave my important papers and wishes where they can be found. I would snuggle with the children on the couch before their bed time, share one last story. then I would spend the rest of the evening in my husbands embrace, and say a prayer and hope to pass in a way that is not too traumatic for those who are left behind me.
