"What is it known as, in the South?"
The Battle of Sharpsburg

"How many dead and wounded,in total?"
Totals vary, but the numbers I've see add up to 22,717 dead and wounded combined, with the Union getting the worst of it.

"What general was removed by President Lincoln, as a result of this battle"
Lincoln relieved General George B. McClellan of his command of the Army of the Potomac, effectively ending the general's military career and replaced him with Maj. Gen. Ambrose Burnside.
