I need two answers as to why Canada is seen as a socialist country.

Technically speaking we are a socialist-demoratic hybrid. But we have gotten our reputation because of our values that are reflected in our policies and laws. First is medicare, the idea of no one being turned away from a hospital because they don't have money. This was actually created because we were a country of farmers and during the depression whole communities were devastated because of their medical debts. (But that doesn't mean they cover everything, they only pay for the basics. )
Second is our charter of rights and freedoms in which every individual is given freedoms no matter what race religion or gender.
Unfortunately medicare is in danger and a lot of provinces are allowing private insurance- a whole other topic but it just shows how laws are made depending on the values of the people you vote in.

I didn't know it was a socialist country. Now, more of a reason for me to move there.
