I have been told by a friend about something called ear stapeling. It is where they put a small surgical type staple in your ear to aid in weight loss, to stop smoking, and to lessen stress. Has anyone done this, head of it, or know anything about it. I am interested in trying it, but would like some feedback please. If anyone also knows of a website I can check this out on it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ahead for any help.

I have a sister in law and brother in law who had it done to lose weight-- they are losing weight. I talked to a guy who had it done for his back and he says it has helped him. I heard that a lady who lives close to me had it done for smoking and she has quit smoking. It is like everything else-- you have to want to quit smoking or lose weight.
Just go on Yahoo search and put in "ear stapeling" and there is plenty of websites and some good reading.

Actually I HAVE heard of ear stapling for both weight loss AND to stop smoking. I have spoken to a few people who have tried it- for some it was quite effective, yet for others it was hard to tell.
There's a company that uses tiny steel balls put at certain pressure points on your ears to help with weight loss and stop smoking. I read an article about it and the people that were interviewed said it works. Good Luck!

I've heard of it but I hadn't heard it called that. I heard they insert a metal ball bearing into your lobe and when you want to eat, you rub the ball bearing and it's like an acupuncture kind of stimuli and is supposed to take away cravings.

I say try instead:

Put an elastic band on your wrist and snap it each time you want to snack.

or

Put some wonderful scent like lavender on a hankie and smell it each time you want to snack. I heard peppermint is a good diet aid scent.

I had it done by an acupuncturist. I did it for weight loss. It did not work for me but it certainly did not cause any harm. It is worth a try.
