Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most common disorders of the lower digestive tract. There is no disease present with IBS, but it creates bothersome symptoms such as altered bowel habits constipation, diarrhea, or both alternately. There may also be bloating, abdominal pain, cramping, and spasm. An attack of IBS can be triggered by emotional tension and anxiety, poor dietary habits, and certain medications. Increased amounts of Dietary fiber in the diet can help relieve the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome by producing soft, bulky stools. This helps to normalize the time it takes for the stool to pass through the colon. Liquids help to soften the stool. Irritable bowel syndrome, if left untreated, may lead to diverticulosis of the colon. For More Info:http://www.herbs-wholesale.com/Dietary-Fiber/351/1/Dietary-Fiber.htm

Irritable bowel syndrome is a disorder characterized most commonly by cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. IBS causes a great deal of discomfort and distress, but it does not permanently harm the intestines and does not lead to a serious disease, such as cancer.

As those before me have said, it's a disorder - it's real, not fabricated - and it causes awful attacks of abdominal discomfort, accompanied by violent bursts of diarrhoea without any identifiable cause. Elimination diets have failed to identify any one family of irritants. Lactose and gluten intolerances are not IBS, but the symptoms greatly overlap.

Simply put IBS means when you gotta go you gotta go, now. Various treatments available. Ask your doctor. In the mean time wear a depends diaper just in case you don't make it to a facility.

Another doctor-made disease to get more stock and send out prescriptions when all you really need to do is cleanse and change your diet.
