I am under impression both words have similar meanings, so what is the difference between lolita complex and pedophilia?

Lolita complex refers to pornographic art,anime on girls aged between 12 to 17. Some times it is used to refer people who are attracted to such art.
Pedophilia--> Pedo means child and philis means love, derived from greek. It refers people who have physical attraction towards both young boys and girls.. (while lolita refers to only young girls). Though nowadays pedophilis is much referred to perverts who molest young boys or girls, the actual meaning of pedophilia refers to people those who are just attracted to young boys or girls and does not molest or misbehave with them.

Lolicon is a Japanese slang term, short for Lolita Complex, used to refer to an attraction to any girl beneath the age of consent, or to an individual attracted to such a person. It is a term which encompasses both pedophilia and ephebophilia. As borrowed into the West, Lolicon means manga style sexual artwork involving child-like characters. Lolicon refers only to underage girls; see shotacon for the male equivalent.

As we mature, attraction to much younger ones of the opposite sex sets in with sexual fantasies. Nothing wrong about it, it is natural. But to engage in an indecent act would be awful. Being socially unacceptable and also, you will not be able to do justice to your desires should you get an opportunity! Then males turn to drugs to further aggravate the matter. Lolicon, Shotaro amount to the same conditions. It is a mental phase, exists for some time and soon passes if one finds alternate more viable means to engage oneself.

Lolita complex pertains specifically to females. The male version is shota. Some say that lolita and shota are not pedophilia, but I think they're just trying to make themselves feel better about it.
