Once everyone is over 25, the age difference doesn't matter that much. People aged 18-24 should date exclusively in that age range (there is a lot of stuff that happens during that time that only 18-24 y/o's can relate to- ie- college). 14-17 y/o's can date each other. Anyone younger than 14 should not be seriously dating someone.

I don't think you can put it in years. A 10 year old dating a 16 YO is a bigger deal than a 50 YO dating a 56 YO. I think 15% is a good limit. IE a 15 YO dating in a 13-17 YO and a 50 YO dating between 43-57.

I was raised so that I was not allowed to date until I was 16(i know .. sad)! But I don't think some ppl are mature enough to handle a relationship until 16 & sometimes older! Also, the oldest to date shouldn't be more than 2 1/2 years difference ... it gets complecaited. & the youngest should be LESS THAN 2 YEARS difference.

I think it depends on the maturity of the two people in question, as in whether or not the younger one could handle a relationship with someone older, but you have to watch for one of the people being "jail bait" for the other.
For me, since I am still "jail bait" technically, I watch who I go out with. I don't want to get anyone in trouble, nor do I want to be wrongfully accused of being a sl*ut or something, cuz that's the opposite of who I am. The biggest thing for me in a relationship would be trust and respect. Without those two things you'll never have a lasting relationship.

it is more about maturity levels and compatability rather than chronological age
in a serious relationship there needs to be thought give to the age difference and how it might affect you not just now but in 5 or 10 years time
I have gone out with a girl 10 years older than me and a girl 4 years younger than me - both were compatible

It depends upon the age of the people involved. If you are a teenager it is very small. If you are both retired it is more. Teens--about 3 years max. Retired--perhaps 20.

I find that I need a man at least 10 years older than myself in order to respect their intelligence.

not an tremendously enormous deal. in case your age isn't any more effective than two times older to the different one, you received't ought to finally end up in effective condition one yet another. yet often times this rule isn't consistently authentic.
