A Subaru Impreza WRX 2002 will do the trick. Cheaper will still need the 93 octane but will be able to chirp all four wheels from a strong start.

someone slap the retard that said civic. he wanted POWER to back it up. instead of caprice why not Impala SS? Nissan 300zx is pretty well put together and fast, a used vette ZR-1 with a 6 speed would be another option. BMW M5, honda S2000 is decent on power, mercedes convertible coupe.

ok, this isn't for everybody, and i don't think it will be for you since you sound like a fancy car kind of guy. A Chevy Caprice 9c1 (police package) gets around 22 to the gallon on the highway, and has 260 hp stock, along with 335 ft. lbs. of torque. also, it is very easy to get the hp to 300 with a few cheap mods. the best part is, you can probably find one for around $2000.

if you like bimmers, and it is in your budget, check out an 02 540i.i have smoked even the 03 m3 with the 540i,and there is less chance of it having been beat on. not to mention, higher resale, and a joy to drive, year round.
