My name is Alicia and I think I am indian how can I find out for sure and what tribe I belong to? any website or person you guys know that may know?

Try this site http://www.familytreedna.com/ - you send off a sample of saliva ( I think - ) and a fee and they can tell you where your lineage is.

the first place to look is in your family records. you didn't mention how old you are. if you are young, ask your parents and/or relatives. if there is a family bible, that might help. older people can contact the Bureau of Indian Affairs, BIA. they will require names, places and dates for as far back in your family history as you can go. if a member of your family has been registered, the bureau will know with which tribe they are affiliated. hope this helps, and good luck in your search.

If you have a little bit of your family history, names,dates,places of birth you can start to track you family tree. There are a lot of cool websites to track and organize your information. The bureau of Indian affairs in DC can help about geographic locations of tribes..

Check out the Oklahoma state website...Lots of Cherokees there, I was born there and my great,great,great,great grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee. I am blond and blue eyed. There is a town there that is the capital of the Cherokee nation .I cant spell it but its sounds like this ,...Tal-aha-qua Its about 25 miles east of Muskogee,OK....... Good luck

you have to find out about your ansectors and figure out where they where from and if you are a cherokee indian but you have to figure out your roots first

you gotta trace it in the family go to the oldest relatives you know..i am a Mohawk Indian.12% and i had to trace it through what my family knew

i know there is a native american fondation that can help you out i think you send them as much information about your familys past as possible and thet look it up for you
