Of the two, Korea are consistently better.
Australia are representing Oceania in this WC but have joined Asia from 1/1/06, Iran also have a good squad and defeated Japan in Wc qualifying.
My Asia rankings are 1 Korea 2 Australia 3 Iran 4 Japan

South Korea. They finished fourth in the 2002 World Cup, beating traditional powerhouses like Portugal, Spain and Italy. Almost beat runner-up Germany in that tournament also. Japan didnt even finish in top ten that year.
Although Korea won for the first time on European soil this year, they have a great chance of advancing to the 2nd rd. Japan led Australia 1-0 and surrendered 3 goals with less than 10 minutes to go in the game. They are such huge chokers.

South Korea has got it, they put there team together well this year. Japan is always strong, but I have felt that they have stayed at about the same level for the last three years or so.
