There we go again. Son has to go to the bathroom during the game, you also stop to buy another Hot Dog and beer, you come back and........ NOTHING has happened.
Baseball is a professional "sport" where often rotund tobaco-chewing guys stand around and wait. Which other "sport" has double-headers ?
You will not see the same team play two Footbal OR hockey OR basketball games in a row.....

My point exactly - you can't play 100 Football games in one season because it would kill the players. In Baseball on the other hand you can have 2 games a day and 6 in a week. This is an indication that it's not as physically demanding as many many other sports. But then, Chess is now a Sport as well.

Baseball is a sport. Poker isn't, but we seem to have all forgotten that lately.
I'm willing to bet things happened while you were away from your seats; probably some great pitching and fielding. That side of the game is just as important as hitting and base running. Although a lot of people don't seem to find it "exciting," to the true baseball enthusiast there's nothing better than a great pitchers' duel.
Purists will tell you there are no double headers anymore. Two teams playing a game during the day and then having another one at night is not a doubleheader. A doubleheader is playing two games immediately back to back. Nobody does that anymore.
I would like to see football play over 100 games a year with only a few days off a month!

I guess it depends on your perspective. I'm sure many baseball players would be insulted by your comment because they play 162 games a year and practice all year round. Could you throw a baseball at 90mph?
Then again, those who are watching aren't playing so it's a past time for them...but I'm sure that's not what you are asking.
Also, I don't think football teams play 162 games, so there probably isn't much to make up for... although I'm not quite sure because football is a complete waste of time...unless you're an insomniac, then it might be of some use.

According to Wikipedia, baseball is a sport.
Baseball is one of the most popular team sports in North America and East Asia. The modern game was developed in the United States from early bat-and-ball games played in Britain, and it has become the national sport of the United States. It is a ball game in which a pitcher throws (pitches) a hard, fist-sized ball past the hitting area of a batter. The batter attempts to hit the baseball with a tapered, smooth, cylindrical bat that in professional baseball must be made out of wood. A team scores only when batting, by advancing counter-clockwise past a series of four markers called bases arranged at the corners of a diamond. Each base is 90 feet from the previous base. Baseball is sometimes called hardball to differentiate it from similar games such as softball.

Record attendance, record revenue, exciting young players, surprising teams contending for championships, everything most other sports would love to have. If you want to talk a dying sport, it's ice hockey. Hockey used to be one of the Big Four. Now it's fallen to about seventh or eighth. But baseball? Baseball will never die.

Wikipedia?? you go to a web site to see if it is a sport?? How sad.. all you do is GO to a game.. WATCH what is going on!! Those men on that field are athletes.. they play hard.. they train hard.. they work at what they do.. to their own detriment many times.. yes, a game can go for 3 hours.. but nothing happens?? not hardly!! Even when it doesn't APPEAR that anything is happening.. it is.. baseball is a game of inches. it is a game of strategy.. it is a game of strength.. not only physical strength, but mental as well.. baseball is a frame of mind.. baseball is a piece of the heart and a piece of the soul. Baseball can help build character where nothing else can. Baseball is a sport.. but so very much more. Personally, baseball is what kept me grounded throughout my life. The players come and go.. managers come and go.. even stadiums come and go.. but the game.. the game is always there.. steady.. sure.. and always.. always baseball. I don't care what you wish to call it.. sport.. show.. past time.. whatever.. but to me, baseball is life.
