The range of sounds we hear is not identical from person to person, even if those people are the same age. It could be normal or it could be you had some hearing damage.

You probably have some hearing damage. Do you listen to really loud music or go to lots of concerts? This could have done it.

I'm 26 and I can hear that ringtone- be glad that you can't because it's the most annoying noise in the world.

If I'm right, this is the ringtone that adults can't hear. Adults can't hear it because as people age, their ability to hear high-pitched noises decreases. This may also be the case with you, especially if you're used to listening to loud music or have attended one too many concerts. I suggest a hearing test.

You most likely don't have the range to hear it. I am nearly deaf to bass music, but I can hear 'tweeter' sounds with excruciating clarity. I can hear the ringtone quite clearly, but most rap and r&b music sounds like someone singing over musical mud to me. I also happen to be good at hearing case fans and hard drives in computers that are about to die :)

Listen to loud music and/or wear headphones a lot? You might have destroyed the high frequency receptors in your ear that you need to hear that ringtone.

I agree with Princess. I am 25 and I can hear it and it is annoying. I don't think I would know if my phone was ringing though...everytime it rang I would probably think my ears were ringing instead of the phone!!! lol
