For me, this is a two sided question as I used to work in a theme park...

My favorite ride, when it's hot outside, would be a river rapids ride. See: http://www.negative-g.com/SFOG/SFOG2005/SFOG-3-26-05-Thunder-River.jpg

My second favorite ride to ride, that is not a roller coaster, would be cable cars. Not too many parks have these anymore.

My favorite ride to drive (as an employee) is the Troika (named originally Warp 10 and eventually Warp 2000 at Astroworld). It's a three armed ride. Each arm ends in a circle with about 7 cars on each circle. The entire ride spins and each of the circles. The arms raise into the air. It's impressive to watch and fun to drive. It's only fun to ride when it's installed in a certain way. See: http://www.ride-extravaganza.com/rides/troika

My second favorite ride to drive is the Flying Bobs (named Whirling Dervish at Astroworld... thanks to powersbt for the original name). This is a fun ride to drive because you first run the ride forwards. Then, as everyone thinks that the ride is over when it's coming to a stop, you start running it backwards. This, to me, was always fun as it's so unexpected. And you thought you'd heard loud screaming when it was running forwards. ;) See: http://www.sixflagshouston.com/photos/WhirlingDervish

The huge towers that lift you really high and then drop you. Especially Drop Zone at Great America in San Jose. Also Survivor: the Ride at Great America. It's layout is very interesting, and the ride is fun. Also love the river raft rides even though they soak you. It's worth the mess on a hot day though. The best river raft ride is probably the one at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. That's just my opinion.

Commorancy,
The 2nd ride you mentioned is either a Flying Bobs or a Music Fest as far as the Brand Name.

My favorite is a Sky Diver. Ferris Wheel style, but has cages with steering wheels inside of them.

Mission: SPACE (Epcot) is my favorite non-coaster ride but I also enjoy Test Track (Epcot), maXair (Cedar Point), Skycoasters (the giant swings with up to 3 people in a harness located everywhere).

Laugh if you want to, but I actually like the big pirate ship swing at Six Flags in Arlington...but you have to get on the very end seat to get the full effect. I basically like any ride that goes up high in the air.
