Start putting 5 or 10 dollars away every two weeks or a month. Don't buy anything for at least for 6 months.

Try not to leave your house too often. I recently quit working and am still receiving a full pay check for the next six months (lucky me). I find if I leave the house, I spend money. Also, I've tried to cut down eating out.

try to save at least 50% of your paycheck in a Savings account. You should do like 65 or 75 percent but I am realistic and do 50% at least, you don't have to be perfectly consistent, but try to set aside unnecessary expenses so that you can save at least that 50%.

IF YOU GET PAID BY THE WEEK,FIND THE AVERAGE BUDGET FOR EACH DAY AND IN YOUR HEAD IF YOU SPEND MORE ON ONE DAY SPEND LESS ON THE OTHER. YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF TAKING IT EASIER ON MONEY WHEN YOU KNOW WHICH DAYS YOU NEED IT. SORRY i WROTE IN ALL CAPS-JUST REALIZED IT.if you get paid every two weeks..absolutely split it in half and dont touch the 2nd week till you have too. pay attention to how much you spend on food..that breaks me sometimes

I tend to spend less when I don't have cash. Put it in the bank right away.
