Your abs are under the layer of fat, although you may think they are not there, you do have them, they just need to be toned. Eating right and cardio is the answer, I wish there was a quick fix, but cutting out carbs at night, no sugar, etc...and cardio are the best. You can do 5000 sit ups a day and sure you may notice some difference, but that will not get rid of the belly fat.
Other things also come into play, what you eat, physical activity, water retention and lots of other stuff too. if you find something faster...let us know!!!

You can't get rid of fat in any one place, you have to lose it all over. Crunches and other ab excersizes tone up the muscle and support the fat you have better, giving the illusion of less fat. Cardio's the way to go for overall fat reduction.

run 3 to 4 miles in 30 to 40 minutes
drink lots of water
eat less fat food
