Depends on if it's 4 cyl or 6. The 6 is a real pain. The tech 4 is not bad at all. No cam to worry about. Make sure you check the head to see that it is not warped. It probably is. 20 bucks at the machine shop and 100 bucks for parts and you are good to go. Don't forget to get new stretch bolts and follow the instructions. Torque to 60, or whatever, then a series of 90 degree turns in sequence. Don't try to do this with a torque wrench, it will be showing around 150 foot pounds when the bolts are stretching.

I had this same operation done to my 99 Buick century and it was around 650$. It would be much more worth your time to do it youself. All you would have to do is buy the gasket and read a Manuel.

(from memory)
5 Hours X -your local labor rate + parts cost in your area = Price.
(Plus Shop Cost (machine shop) if any - suggested as no shop will warantee the work without it)
Dallas area
5 x 57 = 285 labor - about 125.00 in parts (guess) + head check 25.00 = 435.00
