The easiest application for your truck to make it faster, is to add horsepower. A turbo is the easiest and fastest way, but not the least expensive. They range from $1,500-$3,000. Another way to get a few quick ponies is to get an exhaust. The full system. Take no short cuts. Even the headers. If your car breathes better, it will go faster. But if your car expels gas faster, then it must take it in faster. And while youre at it, cooler air is better because it is denser and there is more of it. So a cold air intake is not a bad idea. Most under $150. Then you can always get a chip, and reprogram your engines computer to make it do what you want. These are costly and may cause engine damage over time. So prevent this by installing new cams, lighter pullys, new pistons and rods, and a bigger fuel injector cause you will need to get more gas into the baby. Another quick add on that is more popular is nitrous. Under $500 and you have added up to 100hp. Impressive. Good luck!

There is an old saying among those that want to go Street Racing:

Speed is Money - how fast can you afford to go?

The second most popular saying goes something like - If you want to go fast and cant do it yourself - get a second job, or kill your rich old uncle.

My dad had one of those trucks - he put a 360 TPI motor in it and never could get the rear tires to hook - and it was a stock motor. (trucks suxs for transfer weight)

Lift the hood, remove the radiator cap, and install a faster car under it.

Bolt on's, higher octane fuel, cone air intake system, custom exaust, motor swap, nos, super/turbo, better wires/pumps, and a preformance chip of some kind. Take it to a mechanic and see what he has to say.
