Hey Oracle football is also a "british based " sport. And as a matter of fact India has been playing football for over a 100 years. It was started by a man called Nogendra Prasad Sarbadhikari in Kolkata. In fact the IFA Shield win of Mohun Bagan In 1911 remains one of the brightest spot on Indian sporing history. However lack of success of the natinal team has turned people's attention away. But one must consider the fact that football is a game played by 202 nations it is harder to do well than in cricket where there are 10 nations. Also the WC win in 1983 changed a lot of things. But the scenerio is fast changing with the EPL , La Liga , Serie A, Bundesliga & Champions League being regularly broadcasted more & more People are falling for football.

My choice I'd prefer to play cricket---Indians(from India)prefer Cricket for once ruled by the British and cricket is a British based sport and India adopted several British customs, forms of entertainment etc. Neither one is better just a matter of which one one prefers-a matter of personal choice.

No one is a big soccer fan in North America or Asia.Soccer is just a Europeon game.There is no thrill in soccer as cricket.
Also,Indians just like to use head not feet :)

I dunno why do they prefer. but i think football is better as you don't have to sit for 8 hours a 1/3 rd of the day in front of TV to see the results.
