Yes. If they used your name, i suggest that whenever you sign up for something, from now on misspell your first name so you know:

1)It's fake
2)You'll know how they got your e-mail.

Did you enter any power ball contest? If not, how could you have won? Yes, most of these are scams. If you have any doubt at all, I know of two different sites that you can use to check out scams. The first is snopes.com, and and the second is scambusters.org. I have used both and found lots of the stuff that comes to my in-box are scams and hoaxes.

I hope this helps you. If not remember one other thing. You never get something for nothing (or in some cases almost nothing). If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.. Check out these sites. At the very least it will maybe get some of the scams and hoaxes out of our inboxes!

From what I've heard and read they are all scams. Think about it like this-did you ever buy lottery tickets from Japan?? Usually if something sounds to good to be true it is some sort of scam. Just delete the email!!

Anytime you're contacted out of the blue saying you've won a lottery, it's a scam. Eventually you'll be asked for some form of payment.

Absolutley, they are scams....run, don't walk in the opposite direction! If you never entered a "lottery", there is no way that you can win!

Yes they are scams. If you've never entered it, or even heard of it, don't respond. Scammers are just looking for the naive or stupid people to respond
