Notice Of Pending Action

There should have been more information with it (the notice of pending action) letting you know what the pending action is.

If there wasn't then the Sp. Deputy probably needs you to get in touch with him/her so that you can be served.

Bottom line, someone has listed you as a party to some action and the deputy has either served you (service of process) or is trying to.

I'm an attorney in California, so the legal terms in Michigan might have a slight different meaning in your state.

The term "service of process" is usually a general term to describe the requirement that you must be served with a lawsuit before a court can exercise jurisdiction over you.

The term "notice of pending action" might have a couple fo different meanings. Here in California, a Notice of Pending Action is a specific notice filed at the county recorders office to put potential buyers on notice of lawsuit that involves a dispute over the user of or title to real property. In your state, it might be a form to give notice of certain legal requirements related to your case.

Instead of seeking legal advice, you should see a local attorney or trying contacting a website that can refer you to attorneys in your area.
