My kid is visiting his dad for the summer. His dad sends me child support (300.00) every month. During the time the kid is with Dad, I've agreed to let him keep the child support. However, Dad thinks that I should send him (300.00), plus the amount he gets to keep, while the kid is with him (for a total of 600.00 saved). Shouldn't the amount the he sends me, that he is keeping, be enough? Does he seem to not understand what it takes ($) being a single parent and that I am generous in allowing him to stop payments while the kid is away? I am not going to send him any more than the amount he gets to keep.....am I wrong?

Personally I would say no your not wrong.
do you get 600.00 from him? hmm no
You get 300.00 so HE gets to keep the 300.00 you normally receive
Seems way more than fair to me

Considering your child lives with you and 300.00 a month is pennies compared to monthly expenses of raising a child on your own. He should be happy that you are generous enough to let him keep his 300.00 a month. Thats not a whole lot when it comes to raising a child. And if he was thinking of his childs best interest and where he lives most of the time he would tell you to save the 300 per month.
Well if he thought like a woman he would :-)

Ummm what the ****? He doesnt even get to stop child support payments just because he has visitation with the child. It doesnt work that way and probably isnt set up like that in the child support order. I would give your child spending money out of his child support but not let him keep it thats just crazy. Good luck.

hahahaha What an idiot he is.LOL
He had better just close his mouth and be lucky you are not keeping the child support that is sent during the Summer.
Court orders do NOT generally make exclusions or exceptions with regard to child support being paid, regardless of visitation schedules.
The reason he pays is he is NOT the custodial Parent and you are.
Tell him if he has issues with it then take it to court and the Judge will surely set his a*ss straight.

No your not wrong.. tell him you can't afford to give him $300 that's why HE pays child support.. and you are nice enough to let him keep the money while your kid stays with him, good for you..

Now, I understand that single parenting is costly, but i think you should understand that the 300 that you are getting is because he (from what you said) lives alone. This summer, he will be taking care of your son. Now, think about what child support is all about: getting both parents to support their child. I think you should pay so that he, just like you normally do, can have an easier time.

You don't have to pay him anything. You can give your child pocket money, but that's all. If he objects, why don't you ask your son back?
