It would be hard to pin down any one particular weight size combination because alot of it is relative to height. For instance, a person who is 6'0 and 200 might not be plus-sized, however a person who is 4'9 and 200 pounds would be plus-sized.

If were are talking about clothing sizes, Lane Bryant (which is considered a plus size clothing distributor) begins at size 12 and ends at size 26. This would equate to a waist measurement between 22 and 46 inches. In my opinion size is nothing but a number. As long as a person looks good in their clothes, it doesn't matter what the number on the tag says.

I'm sorry, but I can't resist this bromide: different strokes for different folks. That's not a reflection on anyone who wears plus clothing, but rather the way the maker or distributors of plus sizes each treats the dimensions for the larger woman. Seems little uniformity. My wife has always worn a size 18 to 24 during one time or another. I've attempted to order her various garments when, 1) she won't buy herself anything, or 2) it's a gift or surprise of a special nature. As a man I'm often perplexed by the ranges of measurements in each size category. This seems a big problem. As to weight, I have no idea, my wife won't let me know how much she weighs, but I imagine its been from about 120 to 140lbs. She's 5ft-4in. I would say plus-size begins at 18 and goes on up to 54 or so, which must be huge, but I've seen the size given in a catalog. Maybe that's a European measure. Anyway, certainly 24, 26, 28 is the high range for most plus clothes. I enjoy buying a few things for my wife now and again, and I wish it was not so hard to do, and that there was more available for someone her age. She gets discouraged and just doesn't get anything new for long periods of time.

A 14 is the beginning of plus size, but generally you see the sizes start at around 16 then up from their. As far as weight that is relative to the person size. I woman who is 5'6 may have to weigh 180 to fit into a 14-16, but a woman who is 5 ft may only need to be 150-160 to be a 14-16. Does that help at all? I hope so, I am 5'2 large frame and 156 but I am a 10-12 so it just depends on the body and how you gain weight.

No i'm sorry but a size 16 is not a plus size, you dont find size 16 in the plus size section of a department store. it's how you carry the weight, most plus size women are big boned and thats considerd plus size too. then again you have petite women whos size 20/22 thats also plus size.18 can be pulled off as a plus size to. many different shapes to someone to figure whats a plus and whats not.

Stupidly, it often depends on the clothing manufacturer. I am a size 10-14 depending on the brand. Some brands/stores I am in the MIsses dept and some I am Plus. I keep hearing that I am average size for an American woman, but you wouldn't know if from the fashion industry!

Some say 12 some say 14. If you have to shop in plus size section then they call you plus size. There really is no weight sense we all carry our weight differently. if you buy clothes with a W on the like 22w or something that is also plus. But never fear Marlyn Marone was a plus size!

She sounds like a healthy lady. that is the precedence presently, if all of us isn't a length 0.5, they "imagine" they're over weight. drained of seeing skeletons. One answer replaced into top though, about Marilyn Monroe, yet back then the sizes nevertheless went through numbers, yet they weren't equivalent to todays. back then a 12 replaced right into a 5 or 7 at present, that's standard and healthy. Your spouse is superb, love her as she is!
