Are there any people here who feel that reperation are nessacry. Personally I dont care since I am from Nigeria and would not recieve anything. But would it not make more sense to have Affirmative action, you can get more money in the long run.

It not necessary, All it would do is make everyone mad except blacks, for blacks it would mean a lot of restless nights over the anger of some people. Is reparation owed? Yes but who gets it? Could it be the desendants of slaves or something else, one thing for sure is that this country always held on to it.

The thing about reparation is that it means to repair or to restore something. If we were to look at what America owes then we would find out that no amont of money could be restored. This nation simply do not have it. If the Black race were to get reparations from the goverment that took it, then they would still come up short.

I dislike all forms of affirmative action. What happened in the past was wrong, yes. But I think African Americans benefit more if they go out and work to be righted instead of having opportunity given to them specially. Success is more meaningful, and more beneficial, if you have to take the same path as everyone else.

First off, I am a White American, sorry I dont meet your criteria. What I dont get is why people hold the "White" population accountable for all the troubles that African Americans have had, are having, or will have. Were you wronged, yes; however, most of the ones responsible are dead. Should AF's be paid for a wrong that wasn't done to them, no that just ridiculous

Our reparations came in the form of Equal Opportunity, merit scholarships, GED programs, community outreach, and countless other government means. Every American who has been wronged by poverty and injustice has a right to these, and this is the way the government says, "You deserved better." All we need to do is not abuse it and be wise about it.

Reparations won't go to individuals anyway, so I don't care. Unless someone decides that they are going to pay for my education, it does me no good to get reparations that I will never see a dime of. If they write me a check though...

I think that repiration isnt necessary in terms of financially. I think that i would like to see REAL equality. That means that we all have the same opportunities for education, etc.

I don't think reparations will change anything. It will give white people more reasons to be jealous and hate us they don't like for us to have too much of anything or any minority fore that matter.

But if they was giving it out i wouldn't refuse it....

Of course they are. None of us should have to work until 2012...as payback for all the free work
