it's happened already it took place in marvel Civil war #2. here's the link to my Web forum.
http://mutanthigh.com/smf/index.php?topic=1057.0
it was spoiled by the NY post.
as you can see in that link. I don't think it was good idea it'll indanger him and his family even more now then ever.
Not only by super villian's that already know him. that he might have been able to handle to some degree when his on his own . But now every common criminel he's ever crossed paths with and he chose to stop, will be after him now.
they just didn't know how to find him befor and now he's added other criminal's, to the "I know who you are now list, and now I know how to find you, and get back at you too."
they'll want to hunt him down for pay back/ revenge/ retribution. and him leaveing MJ wont matter. they'll know he was once married to her and still want to kill her any way cause it'll cause him great pain. All they have to do is a batman Crime Alley scene, and it doesn't have to be with a gun, and when peter's not around. and it's done.
peter will become nervous reck cause he won't know where their coming from and when and he's put too many criminal's away to know all their faces by heart. oh yeah. it'll be even worse then befor.
He just made the bounty on his head even larger for those that want to hurt him in anyway possable.
he made a bad chose. But what can you do? it was his chose to make. Now let's hope he can live with the Consequences. Cause as soon as he leave's the avenger's for his life super heroing prior, those Consequences will be dire indeed.
for those that want to under stand what's going on it has to do with persons privacy verses what the government does to take step in what they say is them protecting you. that's what this is about. like the NSA phone records debate.
the issue here that marvel civil war is Exploring is: Is it wise to give away all your liberty's for a littel more safety? some would say yes and some would say no. and this cross over's story line that marvel is doing is their way to have the chance and the room to Explore the issue.
This other link that's a video link with JMS will Explain it. Marvel Civil War and Spidermand New suit.

I read this in Civil War 2 a few hours ago. I thought it was funny that J. Jonah Jameson fainted, but I think this is one of the WORST moves Marvel has ever made. I am truly hoping they end Civil War with some sort of cosmic reality shift so Peter Parker can regain his secret identity. They've REALLY screwed with the Spider-Man character the past few years, but this takes the cake. I don't find it the least bit believable, as Spider-Man KNOWS how valuable a secret identity is. Remember Gwen Stacy? Now, every single villain in Spider-Man's extensive rogue's gallery will have knowledge of who he is, & therefore who his family members are. I just can't see Spider-Man making such a stupid mistake, & it's very out of character for him. Luckily, the Watcher has already popped up, so maybe that will mean in the end, some cosmic event will take place to wipe people's memories & restore the secret identities of those superheroes who fell for Tony Stark's stupid plan. Civil War is an intriguing storyline, & I can't wait for issue 3, but whoever took this angle with Spider-Man makes me wonder if they've ever even read about the character. He really should have been on the side of Captain America from the very start, & I hope in the end, he'll go there.
BTW, does anyone else want to see them kill off this chick running SHIELD & the whiny chick whose kid is supposed to have had a kid killed in the Stamford incident as much as I do? In reality, if someone lost their kid, I'd have more sympathy, but since this is fake, I want them to just blow the kid's mom up & send her to Mephisto. As for the SHIELD chick, she has no respect for superheroes whatsoever, so I say kill her, too. They've killed better characters for less.

Its part of a special saga they are currently doing. Yes he took his mask off. Government has decided that Superheros are WMD and must be registered! Spiderman supports this and unmask himself during a News Conference (I think). Now that being said since this is a saga like Secret Wars it could be or mean anything! Don't look for it to last! Parker took off his mask in front of MJ and others back in 70's or 80's (during Gwen Stacy days) They found a way around that when Black Panther pretended to be Spiderman with Parker there. I doubt this last unless a "new" Spiderman emerges. So did Parker ID himself yes (or he will if mag hasn't hit newsstands yet) I do doubt this will last and Parker's secret will remain a secret

from what i've read on this site, it's already happened in a recent issue of one of the spiderman comics (sorry i cant be more specific, but i dont read spiderman).
i think it was bound to happen cos its something they havent done before and they've got to keep the readers interested, but i think that unmasking spiderman makes him lose some of his appeal. i mean, we like the public superheroes (like FF, avengers) but we also like the secret superheroes (spiderman, iron man). it gives them a sense of mystery and we're always left wondering if anyone will eventually find out who they are.
the thing is, if marvel comics decide in the future that they made a mistake unmasking spiderman to the general public, they'll just make up a storyline where everyone forgets. after all, its the comic world, they can do anything if the storyline's plausible

I haven't heard anything about this new comic and I don't fully understand the concept. Is PETER, going to be saving people instead of Spider-man? Or is it that he is reveling his identity to other people? I would love to know more, please "e-mail" me if you can supply and information. Thanks.
***************************************
I think I understand now. So there is 1 issue in which Spider-man's identity is reveled. Well, I have to say that it has happened before...on television...and Aunt May was watching, but I don't remember what version of Spider-man that was.
This new issue, is it Amazing Spider-man, Spectacular Spider-man, Ultimate Spider-man, or something else? I would like to read the issue.

It's been done. I understand the storyline, but I haven't been able to afford my precious comic books for years now, so I have to wait until my library gets the four or five issue book that I can check out. I really don't like the new outfit that Tony Stark made though, that just isn't Spiderman.

They did that in the what if comic, What f Gwen Stacy had lived where his cover was blown and it was one of the most interesti g spider-man stories done. The only what if I know that had a sequel.

Its exciting-the comic's called Cival War.I got the series from a contest-but refused to read it.It's taking the daring from all of the Marvel heroes in it.Unless they got a sleazy way to bring it back-I don't know.....The story's on this link-don't read it all if you don't want to spoil the plot.

Then he shoud be taking off his spider clothing also.
Wearing spider outfit without its mask doesn't seem nice.It doesn;t match.
