Salma Hayek is a naturally well-endowed woman. So why isn't she the ideal pinup instead of Pamela Anderson?

(Actually I posted it this question earlier but I posted it in the wrong category so it didn't get much traffic).

Enormous breasts, tiny waists ARE curves, and like I said Salma Hayek, has those physical features, naturally. Why have them fake when you can have them...REAL!

But why can't more white men find darker women pretty, too? Don't opposites attract?
And how does being a brunette make someone less "all-American"? Oh, and Pam's Canadian. I'll admit Pam was pretty beautiful...before the plastic surgery and in her younger years. But lately, yuck, did you see her without makeup? BTW I think blondes are beautiful too, but ones that don't have plastic surgery, like Jewel (who also has natural big breasts so why isn't she more popular), Faith Hill, Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe, etc. Beauty comes in all colors so why does the focus always have to be on blonde? Don't men like variety?

I'm a huge Salma fan and have followed her career for years and well, others have answered your question quite well...Salma has not promoted herself as a pinup or posed for playboy, she's not only an Oscar nominated actress but an emmy nominated producer and an emmy winning director. As a fan of Salma's for years I know her well enough to know that she'd never want to trade places with Pam Anderson.

I happen to like Pamela, she's an animal rights activist and is not a stupid woman she knows her limitations and I respect that. She doesn't take herself too seriously and knows her place in Hollywood.

Blondes for some reason are the ideal....why I don't know. It was true with Jean Harlow, Mae West, Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe, Farrah Fawcett etc... That's just how it is and as a woman of color I'm not bothered by it. I don't know if you're hinting at something racial but I don't believe it because white women with dark hair have not been held up to to this ideal either.

well, while both women are well endowed, they both promoted themselves differently. Pam has always been the sex kittten, she was on baywatch where all she wore was a little red bathing suit, she was on bard wire, where all she wore was a tight leather suit, she was on VIP where she just ran around in a mini skirt. she was on playboy were all she wore was...well, nothing. she was a real life barbie. blonde, big busted and plastic looking. Plus, Pam also has 2 sex tapes out, so that gives her more of a pornstar appeal.

Salma promoted herself differently, she wanted to be taken as a serious actress. She's been nominated for an Oscar and although she has showed her breasts on film, she's never done men's magazines like playboy. She's more of an actress, whereas Pam is more of the blonde bombshell.

also, Salma is more exotic looking, whereas Pamela is more of the all american beauty (even though she is not american). she is barbie come to life.

Well all I can say is that men have always loved the blondes. I was blonde and got lots of attention. Went darker and not much...went back to blonde and even at age 51 I get guys checking me out that are half my age....its just something about blonde hair and light skin I guess! Everyone is beautiful in some way or another but blonde hair is bright and pretty while brown hair is kind of drab and dull....not as attention getting.

I'm guessing it's because a lot of guys have some kind of a Barbie complex.
Pam Anderson is like an overly well-endowed version of Barbie lol.
And the fact that Salma is a serious actress and Pam only does gratuitous stuff like Playboy, Baywatch, Barb Wire.
Mostly I think it's because she flaunts her "assets" and guys are only ever looking at her breasts.

I'm not sure that Pam is even human any more. I'm pretty sure she's jusy Boobs with Hepatitis C. I bet a black or hispanic guy would prefer Salma (or j-lo, because they're usually booty men) It's pretty much white guys that love "hoohder's" (that's how the rednecks say it)

I'd say it's the difference in their Publicity People. One wishes to be taken seriously as an actor, the other as a pair of boobs with bleached blonde head.

Some people like cartoons! Personally, if this country would lighten up and lose its fixation on breasts, by allowing children to see them in their proper role as food source, I think the silicone craze would go away.

You are too much mistaken in this. Neither are the ideal pin-up girl.

My role-model of sweet, sexy and a touch of saucy would definately go to Rita Hayworth -- the original. All other's are copies.
