I think a lot of the crazy things developed over the years, like make-up, sexy dresses, and lingerie, any form of dress or behavior suggestive of sex-oriented goals were made up in large part to satisfy and meet the demands of men. It's almost a form of male control to make women feel compelled to do such things to be accepted, loved, and keep a relationship, commitments, and the money tree available for security reasons. Yep, I guess make-up makes a woman feel more secure that she might find acceptance, and won't rely on her decency, devotion and love deep within a loving soul to rely on. I think it's pretty much a game of fakery to lure men, and keep them satisfied. It's a sort of survival mode for women.

Sometimes it's a self-esteem issue. Other times, maybe there is a deformity (scars or birthmarks) that make-up can cover. Sometimes it's just because they think it makes themselves look more attractive to others. I personally don't wear makeup. My complexion is pretty good and I'm afraid that makeup will ruin my skin...

These days makeup is not generally bad for your skin...choosing the right makeup products not only enhances your features but also protects your skin from the harsh environment...this is my personal opinion.

Sadly to say it has been made to many as a statement of beauty.
But, who created the illusion - as well as high heels, corsets, etc!

Adding the body frame of a woman: A woman is taught to have the perfect body - Whatever that is at the going fad!

Crazy: women are meant to be full figure, hips for bearing children.

Make up: Hygiene is what is important, why wear a mask!

As well as in-plants, fake nails... I prefer to be accepted for who I am, not what others want me to be!

I wear makeup because without it my face looks boring, especially in the winter. It also hides my occasional breakouts.

to accentuate their features. most women do wear it to look attractive or appealing if they are looking to date men. other wise they wear it to correct some flaw they feel they have in their appearence. I personally wear make up because I feel naked with out make up. i look really pale. so with a little make up it brings color to my face so i dont walk around looking like im dead.

women after all wear make up for different reasons but most importantly women wear it because they can and want to. women will never stop wearing it because its something that goes with every day life. hey sometimes men wear it to...that should really be your question...why do guys wear makeup?...

Because it is taught to us by western and just overall culture. Its also our way of attracting males and making ourselves feel better and more confident. Males also have their own ways. Like exercising to be fit.

can't speak for anyone else, but here's why i wear make-up. it helps conceal blemishes and even out my skin tone. also i use it to accentuate my prettier features by highlighting eyes or lips. i don't wear it everyday, but some days if i'm feeling "blah" i use it to make myself look more perky and alert.
