I remember Otis Day & The Knights singing that song in the movie. The Edsels' hit was a different tune, although the titles are almost identical. I vote that It's a song written for the film, only because I have NEVER heard it anywhere else--and its not on any charts from that era...

proper this second springing to thoughts are "Civil conflict" by ability of guns N Roses, and "Madagascar", also by ability of guns N Roses, and containing a similar quote (which many haters use as between the important examples of Axl's washed-up-ness, yet i imagine it suits correct with the topic of the music, although its mixed somewhat weird and wonderful in there). i imagine to a particular element it sounds creative, and if it suits with teh music or with the topic it sounds large, even though it should not be overdone and it must be performed proper, otherwise it merely merely would not paintings. EDIT: The quote: "Wh...what we've were given right here,is failure to communicate. some adult men, you in reality can not attain... So, you get what we had right here very last week, it really is the way he needs it! So, he receives it! and that i don't like it, anymore then you absolutely adult men..." from "Cool Hand Luke".

The band Otis Day and The Knights was the band and yes the song was real, but that is their only memorable showing.
