This is not a scientific question-- there is no data that you can measure to quantify an answer to this question. Its a philisophical/metaphysical inquiry. A valuable inquiry, but still not a scientific inquiry.
My philosphy: There is no meaning to life.-- but that life is meaningless doesn't mean anything. The good news is that you get to choose what you want your life to mean-- you can make it up! Figure out what inspires you and calls you to be fully alive. And follow that.
The meaning of life for me is to live-- and live fully, making a contribution to others-- causing this to be a world that I can be proud to live in.
Now, I have no way of proving this, but if you find any of it valuable, use it-- if not, keep searching 'til you find the answer that works best for you.
Have fun!

I know exactly how you feel cause I feel the same. I'm so cynical and hurt and disappointed in all. Here's something for you....
What is the meaning of life in this world?
Why does anything exsist?
When all the things that mean the most,
Have to be down on a list,
We have to wait for all we want
And when that time is through
You're still shitting on the pot
Hoping your dreams will come true.
So take heed my friend and watch and wait
For the end is coming soon
We all have our crosses to bare,
And their's will be a sonic boom.
Hey cheer up now that I wrote this for you....join my lousy world then.......

GREAT QUESTION showing that you have some real INTELLIGENCE! But "life" is deeper than biological life.....This question is part of self realization and God Realization journey and is the PURPOSE of life....to find out who we really are and why we are really here on earth riding in this huge computer, while we are also riding in a "story"! By studying life sciences and cosmology we can come to ask deeply the differences between:
matter and spirit (anti-matter)
reality vs illusion
temporary vs permanent-eternal
life vs death-non-living
temporary body-personality vehicle vs True Self aka Spirit Soul
all of matter (material cosmos) is part of a huge cosmological computer that contains:
smaller galaxy computers
which contains smaller universe computers
which contains smaller solar system computers
which contains smaller planetary computers
which consists of smaller ecosystem computers
which consists of smaller community computers
which consists of smaller population computers
which consists of smaller living individual organismal computers (including Homo sapiens- humans)
which contains smaller system computers
which contains smaller organ computers
which contains smaller tissue computers
which contains smaller cell computers
which contains smalller organelle computers
which contains smaller molecular computers
which contains smaller atomic computers
which contains smaller subatomic particle computers
......We are the only organism here on earth that can ask these deep philosophical and spiritual questions, see the magnificent order and organization of things from macro to micro and who can seek these deeper meanings, which include remembering that we are eternal servants of the Creator and have opportunity to KNOW, LOVE and SERVE Him INTIMATELY and go back to our Real Eternal Home. It takes deep intense work to purify one's existence while here, to become worthy of Home-Him, to become so enraptured with the spiritual realms and serving-loving Him that we no longer want to play with matter unless we can transcend matter while here.
All these questions are answered COMPLETELY and thoroughly in the Vedas, Vedic shastras, including Srimad Bhaghavatum and Bhaghavad Gita. Srila Prabhupad translated these ANCIENT texts to all languages of the world.

Because God created this world and everything that is in it. He created us to love him and those around us. He wants us to have a personal relationship with him and one day go to be with him in Heaven.
While we are here on earth it is our job to obey God and those in authority, love others, do good, please God and tell others about Jesus. If you are not a Christian all ready, than you need Jesus today, because i hate to tell you what will happen if you don't accept him. You are lost without Jesus.

This question is more philosophy than science...
If meaning = purpose then the purpose of life is to serve God.

To learn to be in the image of God as he created us and sit with him in his kingdom in the end. Some believe that we keep coming back to learn what we have not yet learned and some times we come back to help other to learn. ANd when we have learned everything God wants us to learn we don't have to come back here. We stay with him forever.
