Everyone should read at least one David Sedaris book before you die. He takes a everyday incident and makes it funny. Can you imagine how cool it would be to grow up in the same family as Amy and David. You would not be a sane person.

I am going to come right out and say I have never read Augusten Burroughs... I love David Sedaris so much because there have been 2 incidents where I have been so down & Mr Sedaris' work picked me out of the gutter and made me smile! So far I have tried to read everything of his that is in print & to my delight he even appeared in Oprah too, writing a short for the Feb issue (on love!).

David Sedaris. His stories are hilarious, but more importantly, they ring true for me. I've read Augusten Burroughs and his stories sound too thought out I guess is the way I would describe it.

David Sedaris; he's more witty. Augusten Burroughs is more about the weird content of his stories.

They're both very good authors though.
