....My ultimate goal is to transition from the "cost" side of business to the "revenue" side. Do I have to get my MBA to move into strategy consulting?

If I were you, I would be working as a consultant.
Get your rolodex (I'm old school paper, but till use technology) in order and know who you can rely on for info and info gathering.
I would highly recommend that you work towards that MBA.

With seven years of marketing experience you are set up already to start earning a very lucrative income in business for yourself! In marketing, you are only limited by your imagination.....I would seriously consider doing just that!
