We are living on a fixed income--3 of us are attending school--and the 3 cars we have are all broken down. We can barely make the bills, and live in a neighborhood with a lot to be desired (police sirens and helicopters flying by all night--every night).

We could definitely use more--we are not extravagant folks at all--we just need enough to get by.

I think it's easy for people to get credit and loans now. They don't even think about paying it back, it's just a swipe of a card. Funny thing is if they don't pay it back they can get more loans and credit cards at a higher rate and go further in debt. The thougt for a lot of individuals today is: If I own or aquire this material thing that makes me this. Truth be told they are the same.

I think advertising has a lot to do with it. People are looking for fulfillment in the wrong places and the products dont deliver what they are selling. (ok maybe some do, but most know which ones I am talking about)

Doing things for others and building relationships are the real deal.

We are trained to compete from an early age. Living with less means changing our economic model so that we can live cooperatively and with less stress. There are a lot of people trying to change how we live.
Look up "Voluntary Simplicity", "Simple Living", "Frugality"

Yes, as with everyone, I can live with less than I have now. But also as most people, I would like more, its our human nature. Kinda selfish I guess, but at least I am honest.

It may sound funny, but I am happy with what I have. I would like more money to give away. Money to help others. People buy things to fill a void, to make them feel better. Until they find the only one who can fill that void they will constantly want more than what they have......
