Maybe you were too snobby and expecting too much. We won't fall all over ourselves for you if you try to act like you deserve something.
Get real, Tennessee is just like any other state, but if you are nice, well I guess I would be nice to you.
I know how great Tennessee is, yeah, there are alot of rude people here, but there are people like that everywhere.
Southern hospitality applies to nearly everyone I know though, sorry that you must have gone somewhere else.

well, you were probably in some backwoods town, and maybe they didn't have money to get their teeth fixed

from the way you worded your response I can tell that you think you are better than everyone who is beneath you

everybody's lives aren't perfect, and some have it harder than others, it's a shame that you try to talk about Tennessee when the people that you describe are everywhere in this country. That is pathetic to try to label Tennesseans.

Southern hospitality is something that most northerners will never understand. I have lived all over and even though I love the north because I love snow, I grew up down south. As for hillbillys with no teeth, ignorant rude people, have you ever been to Buffalo or Scranton? The south has nothing on these people. They invented rude. A lot of people get the wrong idea about the south. People from the north go out west or down south and say that people are rude. But people up north walk around THINKING they are so much better than everyone else. NYC and a few other cities up north are not like that. They are very friendly. But most small towns up north are very rude, ignorant and far more racist than the south could ever be.

Southern hospitality is a phrase used in American English to describe the idea that residents of the Southeastern United States are particularly warm and welcoming to visitors to their homes, or to the South in general. A large component of the idea of Southern hospitality is the provision of Southern cuisine to visitors, hence there are a number of cookbooks that promise recipes advancing this purpose.

(I've been to Savannah and they are the most hospitable people ever! But also props to Oklahoma City, those folks are great too.)
