I'd say it's a bit too late for him to do much now. Now you know how the LA fans felt about his dismal free throw shooting when he played here.

Shaq's biggest problem aside from age, is that there's no fire in the belly anymore. He just doesn't want to win badly enough since he has his 3 rings and a FAT contract.

In the Playoffs - The worst is Ben Wallace.

He ranks 358 and has a .416% Free Throw Average.

Shaq is 355 with a .506% Free Throw Average.

Bill Russell is 351 with a .603% Free Throw Average

It ain't gonna happen. Wasn't he being trained by Ricky Barry a season ago. It's just more apparent in the finals when the Heat so badly needed the points that he's bad at the line. He's been this bad all along.Come on a free throw is a completely uncontested shot.

Shaque needs to have his eyes tested.
His inability to shoot foul shots could be due to his vision, in particular his depth perception. If you look at him full on the face you will see that his is slightly cross eyed. This could be the real reason why he misses his shots.
He is on the team for his formidable size and his ability to rebound.
When he is on his game with these two skills he shines for the Heat. There are enough players on the team that are fast, able to shoot three pointers, and sink their Free Throws; but no one can rebound like Shaque. Cut him some slack; he isn't getting any younger!! Yes, if he could improve his Free Throws, ... but I think it is his eyes. He has never been good at them.

He shot the FT better in Game 3. The first 2, uh-uh. Game 4 will be a lot better. 3 for 5 for Shaq.
