I found the same to be true of Brazilians during a recent visit to Brazil. Some of it is surely cultural, as the Brazilians just seem to have more open, friendly customs. More hugging, kissing people on the cheek, openly showing affection, more open laughter. It was something of an eye-opener for me, particularly being from New England... we aren't even seen as being very open or affectionate by other Americans, and the U.S. in general does not have a culture as openly affectionate as many Central/South American countries. (Though my personal experience from visiting comes only of Brazil and Mexico.)

I think it's because they are open with their sexualities ... I visited Buenos Aries and found the atmosphere very prideful.
Reminds me of Puerto Rico...

Cultural. Many people from Latin America tend to be very hospitable. It is part of their culture to be hospitable.
