My humble opinion: This life is about this life. It is a precious and finite thing that each of us can use to discover wonder and joy or wallow in misery and fear. We can do our best to leave the world a bit better place than it was when we found it, we can try desperately to make no difference at all, or we can dedicate ourselves to spreading destruction and pain. If the sole purpose of this life was to serve as a test for future existence then all of existence amounts to no more than a really bad game show and whatever God may be in charge of it is unbelievably cruel, arbitrary and fickle. Is this it? No one can know for absolute sure, can they? But one thing we can know - every minute spent dwelling on some unknowable future possibility is a minute lost to here and now - to being what you can be and doing what you can do here and now. What lies in the past cannot be changed; what lies in the future cannot be controlled. The only place we can really make any kind of difference is right here and right now. As for me, I like to hope that there is some sort of continued existence beyond this life (because this whole awareness thing, this 'being', is simply too wonderful to be anything less than a timeless phenomenon), but I really don't worry about it because there are so many more productive things I can do with the time I have.

Peace,

Radical Geezer

God is reproducing Himself. We are the children. We are supposed to use His book, the Bible, and a personal relationship with Him to develop the character He has. That is our hand in completing the creation. It is a choice. When His allotted time is finished He will collect those that chose His way of being.

I believe we are here to continue to improve ourselves throughout our lives. However, it seems that many people reach a certain point and then no longer have desire for "growth". Usually you see this in people who are not open to new ideas or refuse to let go of long-held perceptions about things.
