It is not bad to drink coffee or soda while your pregnant, but don't go out and down a double shot or red bull... You just have to limit your intake to about 1 cup of coffee and maybe 2-3 sodas a day should be fine as long as your drinking a lot of water too... it all depends on how much caffeine is actually in the drink.. It won't kill your baby, or make them slow, it just makes them a little jittery just like it does us!

I don't think it would kill your baby, I think that's a little over the top (re: what someone else said above me). But it's not a good idea. I avoided caffeine altogether when I was pregnant except for chocolate (sorry, can't give that one up) and I found that the baby would be hyperactive (ie - start kicking me in the ribs and giving me bruises on the inside and outside!) even if I ate chocolate too much.

The excess sugar probably isn't good for the baby either. But as far as coffee goes, I'm sure if you drink decaf it'll be okay.

Pregnant women are discouraged to drink coffee because of its caffeine and soda because of its high sugar content.A pregnant woman may develop ingested diabetes. This is bad for the baby.

Yes...you don't need the caffine...and soda is terrible for you pregnant or not. Also, you should limit yourself to one cup of coffee per day when not pregnant!
