I was just wondering, how did you tell your mom that you got your period?

Just went to her and said: mom, I think I got my period.
Watch out for the bone-crushing hug, if your mom is anything like mine;)

I actually never told her. I have 3 older sisters and I always had a lot of girl friends so I kind of just figured out what needed to be done when it happened and I dealt with it. There was no need to get mom involved. I guess she figured I had gotten it when I was reaching for pad. Ha Ha! GOOD LUCK!!

My mom and I were not close. I was so scared to tell her because I though she was going to be mad at me. I hid it for almost two years... but she saw some bloody undies... and yes.. she was mad. But most mom's are not like mine was. Now I am a mom and I would hope my kids are able to just tell me! Just talk to her! Tell her you need to set a 'date' up with her and make her take you out to lunch or supper and have a girls night out! Good luck hon!

Well actually I was eleven(on my 11th birthday) and got it in class and thought I had hurt my self in gym,and thought It go away,so I didn't tell her.The enxt day shew ent in the bathroom and showed me a bloody tissue and asked me had I been bleeding,and I was kinda embaressed by it but was like yeah,and she was like u should have told me!u just got your first period,and she was like when did u gte it I was like yesterday.But she talked to me about it and showed me how to use a pad.Embaressing then but now It's whatever to talk about!but I ogt my period on my 11th birthday what a present

Unfortunately I was living with my dad at the time so I had no one to turn to. I just kept stealing my sister's pads until she realized they were missing and we talked about it together.
I had to tell my mom on the phone. I would give anything to have been living with her and be forthcoming about it. Be bold, it's not embarrassing when it's your mom.

I got mine when i was 13. It was soooo funny cuz i just went and told her. yea i was embarrassed, but her reaction was to hug me and be like "ur becoming a woman!" u would think it was the happiest moment of her life. yea it's weird..but it's better to tell her.

just tell her that u got ur period and she will probably talk to u about lots of stuff it normal so tell her

well one day when i was eleven i woke up and i saw a spot in my undies i took thm off and showed my mom she said this is your period and she explained the whole mess so she went to the store and bought me some pads.

when i had mine, my mom was at work. i had to wait until she got home to tell her cuz i didn't feel like telling my dad. it was really easy to tell her, though.
