Typically to work in an office you need a associates degree as a start. How is your typing skills? Are you good with computers? To work in an office requires good typing, computer skills and telephone skills. You can put it in your resume but make sure you have worked on it if you dont have those skills. I know theres some pretty good jobs at staples, check in the news papers on sundays, maybe a job at your school, maybe a relative or friend works at a job who needs people, ask around but dont be closed minded and only go for secretaries jobs. Depending on how available you are to work and what times you are available theres different jobs for everything. A lot of people start small and go up. What about doing some internships for now, expand your office experience and then apply for good jobs? Good luck

Fist try o prepare a resume with your best attributes, find resumes examples in the Internet. After you can check in the newspaper or Monster.com
If you don't want to work in a fast food, try be a hostess in a fancy restaurant. Its going to give experience and you can put it in your resume later on.

Let all your friends and relatives that live in your area, and people at your church, know that you are looking for a job. Find out where they work and whether there are entry level openings in those companies. Networking is a highly effective way to find a job.

Temp agencies can help you build office experience and let you try it out to see if you really like it.

Bank teller is also a foot in the door to personal banker. Receptionist can get you in the door, but I have never seen it move on to anything bigger and better.

Call center, back office administration, could be good alternative

You need a good material on what to do, where to look for, what others are doing, how do I develop my career. See specific sites (including advice from US gov website)

First off decide what you like doing, pick a company that has that opportunity. If you are not sure go to a large place , like an insurer, hospital, city hall etc. They will have lots of entry level opportunities in a lot of departments.

Try Monster.com and other sites like that... also look in the newspaper classified ads... and try an employment agency. You could also sign up with a Temp agency like Manpower and that way you can try different jobs and see what you like. (they do testing to see what you qualify for in the beginning.)

Forget any other answers - the best website for job searching is
www.craigslist.org

You can job browse by city and then by category - and it's not like Monster - you have better chances of actually hearing back from somebody
