Should change my future caree plans because of what people say about it?

Question

I wanted a job that made a lot of money and had to do with babies (i love babies) So I decide to be an Ob/Gyn! Well if I tell people that is what I want to be they call me a slutty lesbian! (slutty from wanting to have 10 kids. have 7 adopt 3 [I told you I love kids]) So do I change my change my (hopefully) future job because people are calling me lesbian? ( I really could care less about the slutty part!) The only reason I really care about the lesbian is because if it gets around then no one will want to date me! I am only 15 but I really had my heart set on this job. NOT to look at womens coochs but to see a child being born! To be 1 of the first people to see a baby!!! PLEASE I NEED HELP

go after your dreams, you have the motivation, and at the 20 year reunion youll be upper middle class, and your peers most likly wont be as well of as you, prove them all wrong sweetie! i hope you do become an Ob/Gyn becuase we need more women in the profession, men make me nervous! dont let your peers pressure you into being something youll hate later on, friends are temporary, but youll lways have your dreams and aspirations, in the end its what you want, YOU are the most important person in your life. after all, in the end, you are all you have, so do what makes you happy.

Well, being a slutty lesbian wouldn't get you pregnant 7 times, so you could just tell them how stupid they're being, because that doesn't even make sense.
You could also tell them that most women feel more comfortable with a female OBGYN than a perverted man. (Not that male OBGYNs are perverts, but if they're calling you a lesbian, that's the analogy).
Or you could ignore them and do what you feel is right. Of course you shouldn't change who you are or what you want to do. But could I suggest having 3 and adopting 7? I think you'll find that having kids has a much more serious toll on your body than you'd expect, and 7 is a lot to put yourself through!
But you're only 15... you'll find this isn't as big a deal as you think. If it's boys who are teasing you about this, just tell them that you'll see a lot more women than they EVER will.

You are 15. No offense, but 15-year-olds are really stupid and you saying that your friends will think you are a lesbian because you want to be a doctor proves that point. If you really want to be a doctor, then do it. Please, I beg of you-- think outside the box of your generation. Also, being a doctor is not a "job"-- it is a career, which carries a completely different meaning. Finally, doctors do not make very much money these days. If you really want a job where you can make a lot of money, I'd start looking at options that do not involve income based on HMO's, PPO's, referrals or prior auth's. If you don't know what that means-- now is a good time to look it up.

First of all, doctors really don't make a lot of money. They have HUGE student loans to pay off and a HUGE premium on malpractice insurance. If you are going into that field, do it because you love it, not because you are banking on the paycheck. You're take home amount won't be as big as you think it will be.

Secondly, don't listen to what other people say about you or to you. You are smart enough to decide on what you want to do in life and independent enough not to care what other people think. If you really want to go into medicine, study hard now. Take as many biology classes you can get your hands on and pay attention. You can do anything you set your mind to. Don't listen to people who call you a lesbian. Most OBGYNs are women. Why? I have to think its partly because women are more comfortable with a woman doctor (some one who has the equipment and knows it well). Male OBGYNs can't offer that. And those female Drs. are NOT (all) gay. Most are married with children. So you need to find new friends because you are obviously too smart for the crowd you are in now.

Many people today, especially your age, are uncomfortable with the subjects of women's health. However, it is important to remember that women need this kind of medical care. I am going to be a doctor, too.

However, if you want to work with kids, you should be a pediatrician. They work with every age from newborn to age 17! Mostly, they work with ages newborn to about 13. I think that would be a great career for you.

Personally, I don't like kids at all, but I think it is very sweet that you love children so much. Women like you should have many children. The world needs more good mothers.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you being a female OB/GYN. There is also nothing wrong with wanting a big family. I'm from a big family and I want a big family. Anyway, females make better OB/GYNs because they know what it is like to be a female and we have more finesse. Tell your friends to leave you with your dreams and go find their own. Basically tell them to kiss your A**.

If your heart is set on this job, stop worrying about what people are saying. Ob/Gyn's make good money and being one doesn't make you a lesbian. Young people always make remarks about certain jobs/certain people, etc, etc. Go ahead with your goals. I bet they won't be calling you those names at yout 10 and 20 year reunion. *smile*

Don't let snot-nosed little kids get in the way of your dream career. When you grow up and you are completely happy with your career choice and you are making money who is gonna be laughing then? Think of yourself, believe in yourself and do what YOU want to do, don't let anybody get in the way of that! Tell them to go to hell and if any guy won't date you because of rumors then he is not worth your time anyways. My OBGYN is married and has children, she isn't a lesbian so no worries.

who cares what ppl say bout ya, if that is what you want to do then go for it. I think babies are great also but some advice to ya, I don't think you'll want ten kids. cuz you'll need to get thru college and stuff and you will need alot of money.
