IGNORE WHAT THEY SAY. NEVER BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY. LET THEM SAY WHAT THEY WANT.

Tough question. Some workplaces are very political in nature and it sounds like your co-worker is trying to play both sides in order to move up the corporate ladder. Typically, these sorts of people can't be trusted so you'll have to be careful about what you say and the level of constructive criticism you can provide.

The only thing you can do is 'play the game' and see if there are peers of yours you can align with. Additionally, just keep working hard. In the end, your performance will be what will define you at work. If you come off as a really hard working person who is willing to take on anything, you'll get respect from your peers and, ultimately, the person who is 2-faced will start coming to you to kiss your *ss.

Be civil, be polite, but don't get involved with them otherwise. Just work with them, and ignore the negative. If they are talking behind your back, trust that the people they are talking to see how two faced that person is. If they are giving you false information, accept it politely, but then disregard it and find out for yourself from another source. You have to work with them, so you can't be rude.

I work with one myself. Listen but do NOT comment on anything. Be yourself, and just do not go out of your way to comment because it will come back to get you. After 9 years of working now, i know that the best policy is the quiet policy. Do your job and mind your own business regardless if this person isn't.

You just have to learn to kinda trust them but then again not realyl trust them. Plus if I don't like somthing that a 2 faced person did I tell them to their face and tell them they are being 2 faced.

Become 2 faced yourself.

In a work situation, you can't just tell someone to sod off, so just adopt a smile and nod technique.

You know, keep your friends close and your ennemies closer.

I think the only way you can deal with ppl in the work place like that is don't say anything to them. You can complain to the boss or something but you are goin' to have to deal with ppl like that in your life so you're just goin' to have to deal with them and try to stay away from them.

Smile be courteous and very careful what you say around them. deal with them as little as possible. If they turn on you then confront them politely in the bosses office to get the situation straightened out!

Be kind, but keep your own mouth shut and try to keep them at least emotionally at arms length. If you are not kind you will make an out right enemy out of them and then you will have a really big problem on your hands.

Watch what you say and do around them since you already know they carry tales between people. Do NOT get drawn into any lengthy conversations that will lull you into forgetting their real personality type.

Plan to start your own business, enlist the family, smile and nod at two-face until you can quit.
