If so, can you please explain how? Thanks!

Leave it to a "bushbacker" to take the low road. Actually, sunshine, I'm referring to the actual compulsory search engines that came bundled in the Firefox browser, NOT any searches I make with it. Unlike you, I don't busy myself with porn searches or anything else I'd feel the need to "hide." Clean up your mind and deal with your own problems by consulting a professional. I'm looking for technical help here, not deranged rants from the peanut gallery.

Anyway, for the adults out there who happen to read this query, I'm referring to the wee drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the browser, next to the address line. Google is the most prominent option but there are some dubious ones like bloody eBay and Creative Commons that I can do without. Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome. Anymore deranged comments from bushlovers will be ignored. Cheers!

mine (dropdown menu) opened up into a new window allowing me to choose from a variety of options. i don't know if it depends on the version of firefox you're running... but i find myself spending more and more time using mozilla and less with microflop every day. since the toolbar is so versatile, i'm sure there's a way to change the search engine settings as well. firefox's hallmark seems to be 'versatility'.

ps::: i'm not hiding anything either!

Getting an older version is the only way. Why would you want to remove it though? It's a lot easier than going to google.ca or imdb.com to research something. It's not really in the way either. To add/remove search engines, go to Add Engines at the bottom of the thing.
