Babies sneeze a lot & get eye boogers a lot... same with the nostrils. They're getting used to everything. :) If it's not bothering her, I wouldn't worry. My baby sneezes about 20 times a day. lol

It is probably a common cold. Make sure you bring it up to the doctor when you go in but in the meantime you can squirt saline up her nose wait a minute or so and then suction it out. Pediacare works better than dimetapp for my daughter. Oh and the one sided thing, pretty normal she probably just sleeps on the stuffed up side more. And the other comments about it her not having a fever, then it's no concern isn't right. (Not to be mean) It can become serious if she doesn't get the boogers out of there and can turn into a terrible sinus infection and then you're dealing with giving her antibiotics etc. It's best to nip something like this in the butt right from the start instead of letting it go. Good luck and I hope she gets feeling better soon!!

I'm no doctor, but a mother of 2 (10 year old and 9 month old) I would assume it's a cold. As for it only affecting one side, not too sure, sounds normal....I've had a cold and felt like one side is more stuffed up then the other.
As long as there is no fever and she is acting normal I would let her be. I hope she's feeling better soon.

My advice, ask your doctor anything you are unsure of....or even if you already know the answer we always feel better when we here it from the doc.

It's not common for allergies to show up in a 9 month old. The baby could have a deviated septum, sinus infection or a dried ball of mucus stuck in the nasal passage. Is the baby exposed to smoke, a lot of dust or animals in the home? Baby could also have a condition called conjuctivitis, or pink eye.

My best advice is to see a physician. Unless the posters on this board are medical doctors, I would NEVER take their opinion in place of a doctor.

as a mother of 4 i can assure you that this is nothing to worry about. it is spring time and alto of allergens are in the air. (maple and cotton just to name a few) he/she could just have a touch of allergy's or maybe just a spring cold. Yes it is possible for one side of the face to be more conjested than the other. Also she is only 9 mo and is teething. babies can get conjested while teething this is normal. try to use some homeopathic teething tablets. they dissolve instantly in the mouth so there is no risk of choking. Wal-mart sells them and they are only a couple of bucks a bottle. hope this works for ya good luck and best wishes

could she have gotten into something and wiped her hand on that side of her face maybe around her eye?
Or that dry side of her nose is stopped up?

My nephew (now 18 mths) has allergies and his nose is always drippy. My sister has a dog and a cat and after ruling out everything else have determined (with the doctor) that he's allergic to the animal dander. Petting the dog with one hand and then wiping one side of his face will cause that side of his face to flare up similar to your child's.

Its def worth talking to the doctor about.

sounds like she has allergies, which are common this time of year. And her other nostrill might be plugged up, but the right one isn't and it is running. If you can't wait till her appointment, call them and ask what is safe to give her for allergies.

it could be sinus. I have three kids and they don't have sinus problems however i know when adults have sinus issues they can have one runny nose. and the eye booger thing too. I say sinus or allergies. No need to sweat especially if there is no fever.

Yes... babies do get eye boogies and runny noses... along with a lot of drooling. My kids usually got runny noses when they were getting ready to teeth. As long as your baby doesn't have a fever then it shouldn't be much of a concern.

Most colds usally start on one side or the other. It depends which side the virus set up residency in first. Totally normal. God Bless
