a lot of comedians and writers carry a mini-tape recorder with them..in case inspiration strikes...it also helps to capture the tone and inflection of the idea...whether it's a joke or a practical concept..also helps for elaboration...Jerry Seinfeld spoke of keeping a pen and paper beside his bed for capturing the "essence" of a joke, but for verbatim...recording is hard to beat...

Take your time! Write your thought out EXACTLY as it comes from your brain and then "tinker" with it if necessary. If that doesn't work, try not putting so much pressure on yourself. This is only a website meant for some slight entertainment and for people who don't know if they might be pregnant or not to post there sex-life story and wonder about there possible parenting futures! (At least that what I find alot of here!)

Yes, immoderate alcohol will cut down dreaming. It by some means interferes with that sleep cycle. I recognise what you imply approximately utilising it simply to chill out ample to get to sleep. It's a "capture 22". I recognise for me, the inventive ideas I wrote down underneath the have an effect on became out to be crap day after today. Always needed to begin over. Now I depart the alcohol till the weekend, after the whole thing is finished, and now not earlier than then.

Never seen your question before. I've heard several say about writers cramp. Throw out all the things you've done before and start fresh. I've also seen talk to many different individuals about what interests them. Pearls of wisdom & seeds for grow are dropped all the time when we stop judging the words or the deliverer.

Do you remember the movie, "Dances with Wolves"? Remember that the music won the Academy award that year?
Well, the composer, John Barry, although considered a genius, had not been productive in years. his wife, Patricia was beside herself with worry.
When he finally let the creative juices flow and composed the music for Dances with Wolves, he certainly made up for lost time, didn't he?
So give up the worry, it's coming back.

The easiest way to get creative flow is to relax and clear your mind of all things. All ideas you do get record them on a tape recorder and then u can write them down later when ever you want to. and if you get another idea you don't have to worry about lookin where u wrote the 1st idea or where did you put your pen/pencil and paper. at any time you can record. as long as it's majority quiet....lol

If you're having problems getting your ideas from your head onto paper (or computer screen) maybe you should try to write them down first. It usually works for me. Not only am I able to think things through and maybe rephrase things, but I can also see what I was thinking and read it aloud to myself. Helps me figure out if I've said everything I wanted to, and also if I'm being dumb.

Never look back. Never go back. Say you meant for it to be that way. Sacrifice things you created that you feel were good. Then do something better. Turn you bad stuff toward the wall. Never try to create unless you are in your right side brain.
