In Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu, and select Internet Options. Click the Delete Files and Clear History buttons. The listing will be cleared,
If you want to get rid of the listing so it neve shows, go to the Advanced tab, and uncheck the "Use inline Autocomplete". The drop down listing will be gone.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, go to Tools -> Clear Private Data and clear all the saved data or on IE go to Tools -> Clear History.
If you want to delete only the drop down list thaton your search engine, select the list item and press Delete.

there is a little arrow facing down next to the yellow pencil on the yahoo tool bar click on that and a small window will come up and in that window you will find clear history
