You can't stop a hurricane, no human can. It would require too much energy, that we could probably never rival, at least with today's technology. A hurricane either has to hit cooler waters, get torn apart by upper level winds, or hit land to begin the process of weakening the hurricane system, or a combo of the 3.

I think I know this answer - You can stop a Hurricane in two ways - ask the bartender to make you a daquiri instead, or, take out that Scorpions CD and put in Mariah Carey instead.

I tried that with a blizzard once, but it didn't work. Might work with a hurricane though, since you can call it by name.
