I don't have an ipod but I really like the interface on those with the round touch dial. The reason why I wouldn't buy an Ipod is because they don't support microsoft's WMA format, which I prefer over the mp3 format.
Dell has a reasonably priced jukebox you can purchase on thier website.
Also Creative Labs makes some pretty good mp3 players (they actually make dell's.
If you are getting a hard drive based player I would recommend Dell or Creative Labs. IF you want one that is cheaper and holds less songs on flash memory -- there are lots of brands to choose from.

As they instructed you above, an Ipod is an MP3, so what you wish is making a choice on among an ipod and a constant mp3 participant. I'd opt for the ipod, rather, if this is the case many persons is loopy ample to spend 2 hundred dls in this factor, it is gotta be well dont you feel? I understand of a few mp3 avid gamers, such because the Samsadisk (or whatever find it irresistible:), that experience attempted to mimic probably the most ipod's points, and that it is truthfully beautiful well, however nonetheless it is not the equal, it doesnt have the comforts that an ipod supplies, and it is practically for the equal cost, or no less than greater than one hundred. So if you are gonna spend greater than one hundred dls in this, larger do it for the exceptional factor available in the market, an the ipod is the exceptional, it doesn't matter what new release, or ability it has, the ipod is simply well. Oh, and to make whatever transparent, the one method you'll be able to preserve your electronics, whether or not is an ipod, constant mp3, mobilephone mobilephone, is offering them with a COVER. It's precise that the ipod's reveal is rather bendy, it could possibly holiday rather effectively if it hits the bottom or whatever, however when you get it a canopy (lower than 15 dls), I can warranty you not anything in any respect will occur to it.

It depends on the features you want in your MP3. Do you want one that plays videos? Then consider the Ipod video or the Creative Zen vision M. Or if you just want one that plays music the two best are still the ipod and probably the creative zen micro photo. The creative has an fm tuner as well as voice recording capabilities while the ipod doesn't the ipod is easier to use and better looking.

Why didn't your son like his iPod? You can always look for a mp3 player that has the qualities that an iPod is missing.

I have a Sony Bean. It has 50 hours of playback and can hold up to 600 songs. It plays the radio and mp3s. You can get them at Target. I like mine, it is much better than an Ipod in my opinion. And is much cheaper
