You chould check first what's your brand of your sound card. If it's quite new, maybe the drivers for those aren't there anymore in the manufacturer website. Anyway, from my experiences with dos, i never found any program to test the sound under dos, even though maybe it's out there somewhere. If what you're trying to do is to play old dos games, use the small program dos-Box to emulate dos environment under windows systems. find more info here : http://dosbox.sourceforge.net. You don't. If you are running a DOS system then the sound loads when you boot up, usually in the autoexec.bat. (f you are running a dos game under Windows you can "tweak" it to force sound by editing the autoexec.nt but that might be a bit beyond the average user.
