I've been dating my boyfriend for 4 years now and his brother's wife and I have not gotten along in a while. She was constantly hateful to both me and my boyfriend and after keeping my mouth shut about this for two years, I finally exploded. We had a HUGE fight, including my boyfriend and his brother too. This fight was two years ago. The day after the fight, I did the right thing and apologized, but she only had something smart to say, (trust me, I wasn't surprised). I tried about 4 times to apologize or just move on, but she has forgiven her husband, and my boyfriend, but won't even look at me. Like I said, it's been two years since we had that fight and she still won't talk to me. The problem is that one day we'll be sister in laws and even though I can't stand her, I'd like to at least get along when we're in the same house. The two of them will be moving back in for a month in July. How can I not lose my mind with her being here for so long?

Well you did what you could and you apologized. If she won't accept it there is nothting you can do. I know it is going to drive you crazy but when you are around her just try to be nice. Some people were just born rotten. I would find something you can do to let out your rage. When you are alone in your room punch your pillow or put your pillow over your mouth and scream. It will make you feel better. Start a journal and write down your frustrations. Find things to do to keep yourself busy around the house so you don't have to face her one on one and find things OUT of the house as well. Just remdind yourself it is temporary and she'll be gone soon.

YOU SHOULD CALL HER BEFORE SHE COMES TO STAY FOR THE MONTH AND TELL HER THAT YOU WANT TO PUT WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN THE TWO OF YOU BEHIND YOU AND THAT YOU KNOW THE TWO OF YOU WILL NEVER BE BEST FRIENDS YOU WOULD LIKE FOR THE TWO OF YOU TO BE CIVIL TO ONE ANOTHER. TELL HER THAT YOU ARE NOT HOLDING A GRUDGE OVER WHAT HAPPENED AND HOPE THAT SHE IS READY TO MOVE FORWARD AND LEAVE THE PAST IN THE PAST. THEN IF SHE STILL TREATS YOU THE SAME WAY THEN YOU SHOULD JUST IGNORE HER BECAUSE SHE HAS NO INTENTION OF LEAVING THAT SITUATION ALONE.

I think that you should try to get to know her maybe that will help to let her know that you want to be friends. I hope that it works out for you.
